Infertile? Have You Considered Using A Surrogate Mom

By Calli Kuzon

If you are having little success trying to get pregnant you could try another option, surrogate parenting. You can use a surrogate mom and achieve your dream of becoming parents if nature has rendered you unable to bear a child. There is even the option of going through anonymous in-vitro fertilization and the actual sperm donor will never know his sperm was used.

But before you even get to that stage you have to sign a legal agreement. The donors rights to the child will be agreed upon here. The laws on surrogate parenting, and hiring surrogate moms vary from state to state. You should make sure you understand all the laws specific to you and the state before you proceed with the surrogacy.

The actual surrogacy itself can take place in a number of ways. Some surrogate moms do not want an intimate relationship with the new mom as she is giving up all rights to the child, and she doesn't want any more involvement. Then again other surrogate will keep their options open so they can change their mind when the child is born about keeping the baby, and the involvement in its life, depending on the legal agreement specifics.

The general consensus around surrogacy is that it works best on woman who have already conceived children of their own. The thinking is that if they previously have went through pregnancy before they should be less susceptible to being attached to the baby after he or she is born, especially more so if their own family is complete and they do not want any more children of their own.

There are many reasons why women choose to become surrogate moms. Some make the decision because of financial reasons, and it can be quite substantial. They will have to pay no medical bills or otherwise during the pregnancy naturally. Then others make the decision because they know the couple and want to help them achieve what they cannot themselves. - 30525
