The Five Most Common Used Hemorrhoid Treatments

By Terry Rusty

Internal hemorrhoids are difficult to treat just due to their location. Over the last few decades doctors and surgeons have developed a number of ways to treat internal hemorrhoids. The main problem with these medical procedures is that they are both invasive and costly. Lets take a look at the top five most common medical procedures used to treat internal hemorrhoids.

1. Rubber Band Ligation - The rubber band ligation involves placing a small rubber band at the base of the internal hemorrhoid which cuts off blood supply to the hemorrhoid, causing it to shrivel up and fall off in about four to seven days.

2. Injection Sclerotherapy - With the injection sclerotherapy procedure the doctor injects a special chemical solution into the mucous membrane surrounding the hemorrhoid. The chemical solution will cause inflammation and the closing of veins that lead to the hemorrhoid shutting off the blood supply which will lead to the hemorrhoid eventually falling off.

3. Infrared Photocoagulation - This medical procedure used to treat hemorrhoids involves using a infrared light to clot the veins surrounding the hemorrhoid which will hopefully cut off the blood supply which in turn leads to the hemorrhoid shrinking and falling off.

4. Laser Coagulation - With the laser coagulation a small dose of electric current is directed towards the hemorrhoids which leads to a chemical reaction that closes the blood supply off to the hemorrhoid which in turn causes the hemorrhoid to shrink and fall off.

5. Hemorrhoidectomy - Hemorrhoidectomy is basically the surgical removal of the hemorrhoid. This procedure should be considered to be the last resort.

All of the above methods work by cutting off the blood flow to the hemorrhoid which will than lead to the hemorrhoid shrinking and hopefully disappearing. The degree of success varies on a number of different factors from the experience of the medical staff to the location of the hemorrhoid.

Before undergoing any medical procedure for hemorrhoid treatments make sure that you have looked at all other viable options. One of the alternative medical approaches to hemorrhoids is the Hemorrhoid Miracle product which has helped people all over the world get immediate relief and cure their hemorrhoids in a matter of days without the pain and cost of surgery. - 30525
